E3 2006:

We knew it was coming. We just didn't know when, but Nintendo let loose with a trailer and new info on the new Smash Bros. game at an "after hours" conference.

Not much is known but the video displayed a great deal of new info. New characters include Meta-knight (Kirby), Pit (Kid Icarus), Wario and...get this, Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series!

Apparently there have been talks of Sonic making his way into the game, and I've gotta say, the crazier this game gets, the better.

Confirmed info includes Online multiplayer(FUCK yes), an improved single player mode and the ability to play either using the Wii remote or the GameCube controller, so as not to alienate players, I suppose.

Also worth noting it that Nobuo Uematsu (of Final Fantasy fame) is composing the fully orchestrated music. Head to the offical site to download a sample. it is incredible.

Plenty of Nintendo fans were let down when this game was not shown during the original press conference, but now, it is a dream come true.
