Resident Evil 4

The best gamming experience the Gamecube has to offer.

Well trying to write down these impressions without spoiling the story, is kind of hard so beware, spoilers may be ahead, but ill try to keep it minimal.

The first thing I noticed with RE4 was the totally redesigned engine. Straight from the bottom up, so all those people complaining about how the control sucked in previous games is well fixed, I didn't mind the old control set up. It's also very different from Previous Resident Evils being that the game is in pretty well in full 3d so say goodbye to all those static camera angles, which at times was a pain.

The Second thing is the visuals, the game is downright beautiful, I have never seen such beautiful graphics like this in any game I've played yet to date. It really truly does utilize the full power of the cube. Just like the transparency effects used on the water, which once you see it you could be prone to just drop the whole concept of blasting villagers, and just stare at it, so perfect. Even the Character and architecture detail is above what was created in the Remake of RE1 leaving a very weathered rustic look to the game that suits it right to a tee..

The Third Thing is the story, definitely not your typical RE story line, as a matter of fact there is no zombies in this game whatsoever, well none that I've come across yet. Just a bunch off pissed of villagers, lead by some whacked leader trying to take over the world. But like every other RE game it's a story line filled with conspiracies, awesome plot twists and down right freaky imagery. Which will keep you sucked in it until the credits roll.

To sum up these impressions, get this game if you only buy one game for your Gamecube make it Resident Evil 4. Even if your not a fan of the series, the game will grow on you, and if you are, there are special quirks Capcom threw in, one being some of the characters return from RE2, you will definitely notice them.

The rest of the game ill leave up to you explore……………….

Full Review pending upon completion.
